Current Situation
Dear students of the Bachelor’s & Master’s program „Environmental Technology“
As you all know the Corona pandemic has caused severe restrictions at the Technical University Berlin. These restrictions affect both research and teaching. At present (08-04.2020) the university is in an emergency shut down; this means that only very few selected persons are allowed to enter the buildings to perform tasks that are absolutely necessary. It is not foreseeable when it will be possible to ease these restrictions.
As a consequence, teaching is significantly affected: presence teaching is at present not possible. When this will be possible again will be decided based on the recommendations of the RKI (German CDC) and the responsible local health authority.
To minimize resulting problems for the students, the teaching staff will try to offer a large part of lectures as online presentations. At present different possible solutions and platforms are being tested.
Additionally, we are testing if it will be possible to exceptionally offer at least some practical courses as digital experiments. An alternative solution may be to present lectures in the first half of the semester, while the second half will be used for courses.
In consultation with the lecturers involved in teaching in our programs, we can already now can inform you that in both the Bachelor's and the Master's courses can be maintained in such a way that delays in the course of study are avoided or minimized. The solutions offered will differ for the different lectures and courses.
Therefor we kindly ask you to regularly check the homepages of the institute being responsible for a lecture or course and the information given at ISIS for the respective course or lecture.
We wish you a good start into the „Online-Semester-2020“ and hope to jointly break new ground in teaching in Environmental Engineering .
